"Their
Chicago-style blues sound like they're coming through a massive turbine.
Synchronous, choreographed moves follow the beat. What a show!-"
- Blues Beat Magazine
Important Notice!!!!!!!! Vital Support will be back at it very soon with a new lineup Thanks, Paul
The Vital Support Band name started in 1996 when the band backing Carl Weathersby wanted to establish its own name During the early 2000's the band was know to perform up to 260 dates a year. It was a time for the band to hone its skills and better create their own sound. They kept a high energy stage show as part of the repertoire and exposing the blues to a new crowd was their focal point, though they never forgot their true blues roots. This formula kept them touring the States, Europe and Asia. In 2004 Skip and Paul decided it was time to branch out on their own, keeping the Vital Support Band name and formula to keep blues music in the foreground of modern music. They also added Duryea Patterson on Drums. Skip saw Duryea perform one evening and said to Paul “that’s who we have been looking for”. Duryea brings to the group a strong background in gospel music and a powerful style of drumming that is difficult to beat. Paul said one evening to a musical companion “this is the incarnation of the unit Skip and I have searched for a long time” With that said they are ready to start their latest musical adventure! |
